Mementos

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our brother, Mark H. Massucco. (“Muzz”, “Cho”) He passed away peacefully at home on August 25th.

Mark was born in Mt Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Mass. on Easter Sunday. March 29th, 1959. He was predeceased by his parents Melvin G. and Joan E. (Howard) Massucco. His dad- Coach- was his lifetime hero.

He leaves two brothers. Melvin G. Jr. and a sister in law, Christine M (Poirier) Massucco of Worcester, and David R. and his wife Holly (Pohl) Massucco of Moravian Falls, NC, one sister, Jane E., wife of Doug Robertson of Princeton. He was predeceased by his longtime companion Terrill D Paine, late of Paxton. He leaves his lifetime best friend Mark McMaster, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mark grew up in Worcester and attended schools there. Tatnuck grammar, Chandler Jr High, and Doherty HS. Mark was a gifted young athlete in football and especially baseball. He split many idyllic summers between the White Mountains and Rye Beach. Many fun football and wiffle ball games were had in the yard and on the beach! He was an avid fisherman in the ponds around Worcester county and the streams and rivers in New Hampshire. His mounted prize brook trout will forever adorn the wall of our summer camp! He worked as a carpenter and a painter for many years. He was a huge history buff, especially anything to do with WW2. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He was a big fan of the 3 Stooges and amassed quite a collection of their material. In accordance with Mark's wishes, he will be cremated and interred privately.

A celebration of his life will be on October 6th at The Knights of Columbus 44 Circuit Ave North, Worcester, MA, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. All are welcome. Memorial donations can be made to the Food Bank at St Johns Church, 44 Temple St. Worcester.

What is your favorite memory shared with Mark?

After a day of painting in the hot sun. We went to Tweeds Pub. Mark picked numbers 14 +15 for Keno. Thinking consecutive numbers is usually uncommon. I added numbers 16+17. When I asked why 14+15. He told me it was his old football jersey numbers. We hit $100. I could not believe it. Warren LaJeunesse.
